How do I post a score if I did not finish a hole or a round?
With the 2024 revision to the Rules of Handicapping, there has been an update to include a new definition called Expected Score. This procedure will be used when a player completes all nine holes of a rated nine, and when a player plays 10-17 holes. When posting in either of those cases, the player's score will need to be "scaled up" to an 18-hole Score Differential. When a player plays an incomplete round between 10-17 holes, they will be required to post their scores via the Hole-By-Hole score posting method. The player will leave the holes that are not started blank. For holes started and not completed, the player must record their Most Likely Score (see Rule 3.3 in the Rules of Handicapping), which is the number of strokes already taken plus the number of strokes it would take the golfer to finish based on their own ability, position on the hole, and the difficulty of the green. The Most Likely Score cannot exceed the player's Net Double Bogey maximum score.
