Treatment of Hole(s) Not Played
How to handle holes not played under the World Handicap System
The recommendation under the World Handicap System now allows for scores played from 10-17 holes. For these types of scores, golfers must use the “Hole-By-Hole” score posting method within GHIN.com and the USGA GHIN mobile app. When going to post a score, they will see a option for “Number of Holes Played” and will need to select 10-17 Holes.
When posting these scores, you do need to leave the holes not played blank. The record in your example did use this correctly.
The main requirement for these scores is that there must be at least 9 holes played on a rated 9.
